Zachary Wu

Future of Environmental Studies,
Youth Advocate

Zachary Wu is a passionate person when it comes to his interests. His main interests are currently paleontology and geopolitics/history which he hopes to find a career in. 


Guided by his father’s wisdom of prioritizing work before leisure, Zachary believes in maintaining a balance between productivity and relaxation. He follows the principle of dedicating three-quarters of the day to being productive and the remaining quarter to unwind. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of striking a balance, avoiding extremes of stress or complacency, and achieving a well-rounded lifestyle. 


Currently a high school freshman, Zachary maintains an impressive 4.0 GPA while pursuing diverse interests. His elective courses include Spanish and Orchestra, and he actively engages in extracurricular activities such as piano lessons, Youth in Government (YIG), and soccer. Eager to contribute to his community, he participates in various events and has attended numerous museums and paleontological camps, showcasing his commitment to his passion for paleontology. 


While paleontology remains a significant focus, Zachary has recently delved into researching history and geopolitics, recognizing their potential impact on addressing issues like climate change. His academic pursuits and diverse extracurricular involvement reflect his dedication to personal and intellectual growth.


Looking ahead, Zachary aspires to gain admission to Yale or another university with a strong history and paleontology program. He envisions a future career in either field, leveraging his knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to organizations working on issues like climate change. Zachary’s commitment to both his ambition and potential for making a positive impact in the years to come.
