Vittoria is a determined and dedicated individual, passionately committed to achieving her goals and positively impacting the lives of others. Her love for photography and painting coexists with a strong interest in STEM and cancer research, particularly emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about pancreatic cancer risks.
Family plays a crucial role in Vittoria's academic journey, providing unwavering support every step of the way and imparting valuable lessons. In 2022, she took a bold step, moving to the United States alone and facing numerous challenges. Throughout this journey, her family remained a constant source of encouragement during successes and solace during tough times.
The turning point came in 2023 when Vittoria tragically lost her grandmother to pancreatic cancer. This heartbreaking experience fueled her determination to pursue STEM and research, driven by a sincere desire to help others facing similar challenges. Motivated by her family's struggle due to insufficient resources for her grandmother's illness, Vittoria is now focused on making a tangible difference in the field and supporting others through the difficult aspects of such illnesses.
Throughout high school, Vittoria focused on courses aligned with her passion, earning High Honours in the winter of 2022 and fall of 2023 for consistent top performance. Continuing her artistic pursuits in darkroom photography and painting, she also honed her mathematical skills with pre-calculus and delved into chemistry for future goals. Beyond academics, she excelled in alpine girls skiing receiving an All-Nepsac award ranking among the top 12 in multiple countries. Adding soccer in 2022, she became team captain in 2023. Engaging in high level competitions, she achieved commendable results. In extracurriculars, she was drawn to clubs like the pitching and biotechnology clubs, and co-founded the Italian Student Association to foster a sense of belonging for those with Italian roots or heritage.
Looking ahead, Vittoria aims to deepen her knowledge in medicine and cancer research, aspiring to become a leader in these fields. She believes that acquiring essential tools will empower her to effectively raise awareness and contribute to meaningful advancements.
