Sofia is a hardworking and responsible youth interested in the areas of food sciences and nutrition. She believes that actions across local, regional and global levels can help achieve a more sustainable.Â

Growing up, Sofia started training for horse-back riding when she was twelve years old. When conquering a new height successfully, it gives her a great sense of pride. This experience keeps motivating her to try new things and gives her courage to solve challenges.Â

Currently, Sofia is undertaking a broad spectrum of activities, both in terms of academics and extracurricular, to boost her personal development. She likes baking and leads the baking club with 30+ members at school. In order to raise people’s awareness on food related issues, she created an account sharing nutritional sciences, attracting 2000+likes. In order to bring more public attention and solve issues that autistic children faced in China, Sofia established a NGO called EQT Childcare, implementing equestrian therapy and designed special diets for autistic children, benefiting more than 30+ children. In academic areas, Sofia achieved Global Gold at the iGEM competition, finished Nanoscience lab Summer Institute in UCLA, and is doing an independent research on the role of nanoparticles on solving iron deficiency among autistic children.

Looking ahead, Sofia aims to continue her intellectual development in the areas of food science to ensure a thriving community for generations to come.
