Shaun Chan

Future of Economics,
Youth Advocate

Meet Shaun Chan, an extremely driven individual deeply committed to understanding how economics and business work, especially in the world of investments. With a burning passion and relentless drive, Shaun is on a mission to decode financial complexities, poised to leave an enduring mark on the future of finance.

In the earlier years, Shaun was a member of the Hong Kong National Triathlon Team, where he trained tirelessly in three different sports, working hard every single day of the week. However, Shaun soon realized that all this effort wasn’t the key to success. Despite training twice a day, he often felt exhausted and unprepared for races. That’s when he learned that working smarter, not just harder, was the way forward. By carefully adjusting his training schedule and using a more thoughtful approach, Shaun found a better way to succeed. He believes it’s vital to see tangible results for all the effort you put in, to avoid wasting your dedication.

Shaun’s academic journey is marked by consistent excellence, including Honor Roll in Freshman year, participation in Honor classes during Sophomore year, and serving as a teacher assistant for chemistry in junior year. Beyond academics, his leadership shines as he leads Sport4Kids, mentors students in coding through a Freshman year internship, and explores the world of blockchain. Shaun’s governance potential is evident as he also holds roles as senior year senator of treasury and athletics and class officer president or treasurer. In sports, he's a rising cycling talent, with National Team potential and sponsorship interest from brands like Pocari Sweat. Shaun’s multifaceted dedication underscores his commitment to growth and community, extending from academics to leadership, sports and philanthropy.

With aspirations to attend a top 20 university and major in Business or Economics, Shaun's unwavering dedication positions him for a remarkable career in investment banking or a related business field, where he aims to make a profound impact.
