Ban Mai is a dynamic teenager with a passion for making a positive difference. Eager to address environmental issues, she aspires to develop business models that ensure a sustainable future. Her curiosity and resilience, embodied in her father's motto, "Work hard, Dream big,"Â drive her to stay focused and steadily work toward turning her goals into reality.
Raised in Vietnamese society, Mai encountered traditional gender norms that often limit women's potential. Yet, these widespread views only fueled her desire to defy conventional roles and champion gender equality. Committed to societal change, Mai is driven to advocate for women's rights and equity. She staunchly supports the idea that women deserve the opportunity to follow their dreams and excel in any career path they select.
Throughout her career, Mai has consistently maintained good grades and earned the admiration of her peers. Her dedication and hard work have been recognized, as she currently holds the position of University Ambassador at her school. Notably, Mai had the honor of representing her school at the Student Leadership Conference in Malaysia.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Mai has made a notable impact beyond the classroom. She founded The Hope Project, an organization dedicated to promoting Vietnamese food and culture within the community. She launched The Blue Horizons, a nationwide campaign that raises awareness and funds to support SDG goals 8 and 14, focusing on the effects of hospitality development on local communities and the oceans. Mai was selected to participate in the highly competitive Asia Youth International Model United Nations, where she represented Vietnam, addressed key state issues, and collaborated with other delegates to draft solutions that foster economic stability. The success of her initiatives has garnered attention from multiple news outlets, contributing to the preservation and celebration of Vietnamese heritage.
Looking ahead, Mai is eager to study in the USA, driven by her desire to gain valuable academic insights and immerse herself in the nation's rich cultural diversity. She aims to attend renowned universities, focusing on business and economics. Mai's ultimate goal is to acquire a deep understanding of business investment and promote sustainable practices that benefit local communities and the environment.
