Joe led his neighbourhood soccer squad in Tokyo for 5 years. During his captaincy, the team faced a coaching turmoil with 3 changes in 3 years, resulting in a performance decline due to the lack of cohesive structure. Despite these issues, Joe found motivation in the 11-time Emmy-winning TV show "Ted Lasso." This inspired him to rejuvenate the team with positivity and reliance. Joe encouraged his fellow players to adopt a mindset of development, which improved performance, bringing the team closer to qualifying for the national tournament.Â
Consistently excelling in Mathematics and Economics, Joe stands out as a top student. He demonstrates his passion for these subjects through his research paper on the statistical analysis of the impact of mergers on share prices. Moreover, his commitment to community shines through his role in the Behavioral Insights team, employing Behavioral Economics to curtail plastic pet consumption within the school. Joe’s versatility extends further as a certified CSIA ski instructor. He imparts Aikido skills to young learners, with ambitions of achieving Aikido shodan status by 2024. He is also an avid soccer player as he captains his local team and school Varsity team which he led to the schools 1st championship win at the Western Japan Activities Association tournament earlier in 2023.
