Howard is an enthusiastic and passionate student of History and Economics who enjoys exploring the mysteries of the past. His journey began with stimulating conversations with his father and travels to historical sites that enriched his cultural appreciation.
At age 10, his fascination deepened through online history videos and reading his sister's high school history books. During middle school, a transformative summer course at Phillips Exeter Academy in Business and Economics earned him full honors and sparked his enthusiasm for the intersection of economics and history. His research paper on the economic impact of British colonialism recognised internationally further fueled his belief in the interconnectedness of History and Economics. With unyielding curiosity, Howard's journey continues, and he's eager to share his evolving insights.
Howard excels academically, with recognition at the John Locke Global Essay Competition, consecutive nominations for the Rising Phoenix Awards and Green is Gold Film Festival, he was the 2022 school PBL Tournament Champion and won the Rising Phoenix Best Director Award and PBL Film Festival Award for a powerful nuclear weapons awareness film. In sports, he managed to secure second place in a competitive table tennis tournament; and at school, he regularly earns the Head's Commendations for grades consistently at or above 90%. In extracurriculars, Howard actively participates in Model UN and the Humanities Club, founded a popular CCA on teaching Calculus to middle school students, and holds leadership roles as Treasurer of the InSo Council and leader of the Economics sector. He's a features writer for his school magazine and co-editor in chief for his school’s financial magazine, he volunteers by teaching coding to minority students, and showcases his cinematography and video editing talents by supporting local NGOs and nonprofits. Beyond his achievements, Howard enjoys a well-rounded set of hobbies in his free time, including tennis, table tennis, fishing, golf, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through fitness.
Howard intends to double major in History and Economics with a minor in CS at a top university, seeking a holistic understanding of Humanities and Science. His ultimate goal is to conduct influential research at leading Wall Street firms.
