Faythe, a Junior at Shekou International School, aims to become a successful criminal defense lawyer, advocating for injustices in the judicial system. Passionate about public speaking and change, she holds leadership roles in Model UN and Debate. In her free time, she enjoys works by Joan Didion and Ottessa Moshfegh.
During her journey across different countries, one of Faythe’s most transformative experiences was her first white-water rafting adventure in Thailand. Initially apprehensive and uncertain, she soon found herself exhilarated by the rush of navigating the rapids. The experience pushed her out of her comfort zone, mirroring the adaptability she’s cultivated while adjusting to new cultures. This taught her the value of embracing the unfamiliar, building resilience, and appreciating life's diverse adventures. The challenge of conquering the unpredictable currents strengthened her confidence in facing new challenges, both on the river and in life.
Faythe is a well-rounded student excelling academically, in extracurriculars, and personal pursuits. Consistently on the Honour Roll from Grades 6 to 10, she has received multiple accolades in Model United Nations and secured the top spot in Public Forum Debate in Grade 9. She also excelled in a Mock Trial at the Hong Kong Justice Centre, winning first place in an online mock trial competition, and earned the title of Best Opening Speaker. Faythe further showcases her leadership by spearheading a Non-Profit Organisation, reflecting her drive to make a broader impact.
Faythe aims to attend top US University to sharpen her skills in law and advocacy, with the goal of becoming a distinguished criminal defense lawyer. She is committed to driving meaningful change in the legal system, advocating for justice and equity on a global scale.
