Devyani Sehgal is an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a profound passion for the arts, particularly in working with young children. Her compassion and enthusiasm shine through in her interactions, especially within the realm of creative expression. Fueled by a resolute determination, she aspires to pursue a career in architecture, blending her love for aesthetics with the practicality of design.
Reflecting on her past, Devyani recalls a time when she was confined to a small circle of friends, hesitant to venture beyond its bounds. However, her journey took a transformative turn when she embarked on the adventure of boarding school. Suddenly thrust into an unfamiliar environment without the safety net of her parents, she confronted her fears head-on. This experience compelled her to find her voice, fostering a newfound independence and confidence in her ability to navigate any situation, whether among peers or authority figures.Â
In academics, Devyani consistently achieves top grades, earning A’s and A stars while leading her team to victory in the Infinity Math Olympiad and receiving the GELOSEA Diamond Award. Beyond academics, she excels as house captain and founder of Kalla Space, organizing exhibitions that have raised over 2 lakhs. Affiliated with the Art Education Program (AEP), she collaborates with the National Organization Round Table India, developing a curriculum for schools nationwide. Personally, Devyani actively seeks growth, participating in summer courses at Carnegie Mellon University and GenWise, while also co-heading the school magazine, refining her communication skills.
Looking ahead, Devyani aims to pursue Architecture for her undergraduate studies at a top US University, such as Cornell University and Cooper Union University. Her goal is to learn how to integrate form with function and work towards sustainable growth of the world.
