Bella Phan, born in the year of the Golden Pig, is passionate about knowledge and thrives under pressure. She loves unconventional ideas, sparking fruitful debates and fun conversations. Her tenacious and adaptable nature shines, especially when navigating Saigon's chaotic rush hour traffic, making her an ideal city tour companion.
Her dad always said, "To know the people, you need to know their markets." Initially, Bella couldn't understand the excitement her parents felt from bargaining or the bustling market streets. Despite this, she often went, captivated by her dad's stories of his fruit stall experiences with her grandma. He shared how he learned the importance of building relationships with customers and earning community respect. Inspired, Bella decided not to be a mere observer but to embrace the market, understanding the importance of immersion, negotiation, presentation, and customer interaction. This inspired her interest in marketing, hoping to gain a deeper understanding of people.
Bella is an IB student by day and a top 20 national Tetris mobile player by night. She takes HL Psychology, Art, and English, earning awards for representing her school during an official IB visit and exemplifying the open-minded IB learner profile. Bella explores her passions through extracurriculars, including her role as Head of Fundraising for The Loving Heart, a non-profit where she aims to raise $400 for a tutoring shelter. She excels in design, leading her school’s newspaper design team and creating promotional materials. Currently, Bella is involved in public relations with Project Xanh, aiming to open a community garden at her school.
Bella aspires to attend a top university and pursue a career in marketing, driven by her passion for understanding people and creating impactful connections.
