Anh Phuong

Future of Business,
Youth Advocate

Anh, an ambitious businesswoman and activist from Vietnam, is fervently dedicated to representing her country globally and contributing to a better, more equitable world.

Her strong desire to be a global ambassador for Vietnam stems from personal experiences with diverse cultures. Despite meaningful multicultural encounters, she confronted a disheartening reality: deep-rooted stereotypes and prejudice against Vietnamese people, even in other Asian nations. These pervasive perceptions unfairly painted Vietnam as impoverished, uncivilized, and synonymous with crime. Anh recognized this bias during her travels, encountering cautionary signs in Vietnamese-populated areas that reflected prejudiced attitudes. Instead of discouraging her, this fueled a determined spirit within Anh, motivating her to challenge these perceptions and become a catalyst for changing attitudes towards her country.

Anh's commitment to academic excellence is evident in her achievements, including securing the top spot in the Excellent Student - City Level competition for English, surpassing over 400 scholars. Fueled by a passion for debate, she excelled at the World Scholar’s Cup competition at Yale University, earning a gold trophy in debate and trivia while contributing to one of the top teams among over 700 participants worldwide. Beyond academics, Anh founded Klub Media at her school to raise awareness about social issues and inspire global engagement. She also co-founded TalkTots, an online English class for children, with the goal of guiding them in integrating into the global community. As an aspiring businesswoman, her initial venture into an art business provided valuable exposure to entrepreneurship.

Anh's aspiration to attend a prestigious university in business or economics is rooted in her vision of empowering Vietnamese businesses globally. In her future career, she envisions herself as a bridge between Vietnamese enterprises and the global economy, leveraging her education to provide guidance, build connections, and facilitate trade relationships.
